Castlevania has a storied history dating back to the year of 1986 when the original Castlevania was released for Nintendo Entertainment System. But what put Castlevania on the map is a game known as Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for PlayStation. Symphony of the Night was released in 1997 for the original PlayStation to critical acclaim, and was coined alongside Super Metroid as “Metroidvania.” The name “Metroidvania” was coined to describe a genre of games that brought a game to a secluded castle, or cave. In Metroid’s case, it was secluded into a cave, with some locations in labs or space stations. Most 2D Video Games go from “A” to “B” like the original Castlevania games. In Castlevania: Symphony of the Night’s case, the game was secluded into a castle, with some locations going into caves. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night spawned a new franchise underneath the main franchise which is “Castlevania.”

Castlevania got a new trilogy as soon as Nintendo DS was 6 months available. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow is the sequel to Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, and is the highlight of Nintendo DS at that point. The next game in the series was Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, brought some of Castlevania’s most epic boss battles. Here’s a sample for ya…

Boss Battle with… Death

Boss Battle with Death and Dracula…

Boss Battle with “True Dracula”

The final game in this trilogy is Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. The world building of Order of Ecclesia harkens back to the original Castlevania games, where you’d advance through the world of Castlevania via small stages, until you reach the big, bad Castle. I’ll now post some sample videos for ya…

I will now itemize the games and the playlists for your leisure pleasure…
